Hello all ❤️
I am delighted to bring you this week's selection of art from my saved folder.
This week, I’ve shared videos exploring the meme-filled paintings of Daniel Arthur, the elusive works of Alex Sutcliffe, and Zhou Yichen’s heartfelt game about the final months he spent caring for his grandmother.

Kathrin Longhurst is a high-realist, figurative artist whose work transforms themes of oppression into powerful messages of hope and change.
Growing up in East Germany and later escaping to Sweden, Longhurst's experiences of displacement fuel her commitment to social justice and freedom of speech. Her art focuses on women, seen in works like Written in the Sky, where a fearless female figure symbolizes strength and resilience.
Longhurst is a respected figure in the Sydney arts community, having served as vice president of Portrait Artists Australia and founded Project 504. With 18 solo shows, numerous nominations including the Archibald and Sulman Prizes, and winner of the 2021 Archibald Packing Room Prize, her work is collected globally.
This piece is available now through 33 Contemporary, a Palm Beach gallery showcasing emerging and established artists, in partnership with Poets & Artists.

Art Prompt
Make a piece of art that looks like it belongs in a room in one of your favourite films — like it was always meant to be there. I’d probably create something for Rick Deckard’s apartment in Blade Runner, maybe above his piano or near the flickering neon light in his bathroom.
See you next Sunday 👋
Thank you so much!
