The history of art is filled with masterpieces. The history of making is filled with attempts.

Research into creativity suggests that prolific creators don’t necessarily produce better work each time they create. They simply produce more opportunities for exceptional work to emerge.

We remember the masterpiece. We rarely see the hundreds of experiments that made it possible.
